Why give to Abbeyfield?

We rely upon the generosity of our donors and fundraisers to make a difference to the lives of our residents.

Abbeyfield Yarmouth Society Ltd is financially independent and a registered exempt Charity. We rely on donations and legacies made in Wills.

Would you like to help us continue to provide sheltered housing for older people in Yarmouth?

You can do this in 3 ways.

  • One-off donations – Donations in Memory
  • Regular giving – a regular pledge of money
  • Wills and Legacies

1. One-off Donations

We recognise that giving money in the form of donations is a personal choice. Many people choose to do this at certain times of the year to local and National Charities.

As a local Charity, we humbly ask that you consider us when planning your Charity Donations. Much of the work we have been able to do at The Coach House, for example building extensions, has been enabled by the generous donations from local residents.

Donate in memory

Abbeyfield is grateful for all gifts received in memory of loved ones.Donations in memory are a wonderful way of remembering someone special – as well supporting causes that they may have supported during their lifetime or those that supported them.

2. Regular Giving

If you would like to donate regularly, we can set up a standing order to receive a set amount from you each month. Use our Standing order form

Don't forget to add Gift Aid!

If you're a UK tax payer, the Government will add nearly 25% to your donation through Gift Aid. Fill out a Gift Aid form and you'll be helping us even more.

3. Leave a gift in your Will or Legacy

A remarkable number of Abbeyfield houses, homes and services have only been made possible thanks to wills and legacy gifts.

Large or small - every gift is special - all gifts left to Abbeyfield Yarmouth Society Ltd in Wills and Legacies have helped make life easier and more fulfilling for our local residents.

What is the difference between a will and a legacy? A will is like leaving a ‘fish’ for your loved ones to eat when you have passed on. A legacy is like leaving your loved ones with the knowledge of how to fish!

Fundamentally, the choice is yours of what to do with money or property from your estate. Money makes a difference in the short-term, a legacy means that your money has longevity and makes a lasting contribution.

Help with writing a will

We understand that planning, writing and updating your will is private and personal but can also be a bit daunting. We suggest that you seek Independent Financial Advice from your Solicitor and or Accountant. Another source of valuable information can be found on the ‘Remember a Charity’ website.

Any help, big or small, will really aid us in achieving our mission: to enhance the quality of life of older people.Your generosity is not only appreciated, but it is also essential to helping us continue our valuable work.

Thank-you very much on behalf of the Society and residents.
